Welcome to the Veterinary Clinic!

Attention Customers

Effective March 15, VETCOM (Veterinary Command) is changing all military Vet Hospital’s price structures. Most vaccine prices have increased marginally and there are now mandatory exam fees. These exam fees are as follows:

  • Sick-call Examination (check ears, vomiting, limping) – $25
  • Re-check examination (routine follow-ups) – $15
  • Wellness Examination (examined by veterinarian) – $25
  • Wellness Screening (examined by technician) – $10
  • Health Certificate Examination (Health Certificates) – $25

In addition to these price changes, there are now “wellness packages”. When you purchase a wellness package, you will also receive a $15 package discount. These packages are designed to provide complete care for your animal and are specifically tailored to your pet’s age and needs.

Edwards Veterinary Clinic Mission

The primary mission of veterinary treatment facilities is to provide care and treatment of government-owned animals (i.e., military working dogs) and for the protection of the military community from animal diseases. The care of privately-owned animals of military personnel, at a low cost, is also part of this mission on a space available basis.

Clinic Use Eligibility

Veterinary services are authorized for animals owned by personnel authorized DoD medical care.

Vet Clinic

The Edwards Veterinary Treatment Facility provides services for small animals including health certificates, vaccinations and medical surgical and laboratory procedures as mission permits. Limited services are available for horses. Emergencies involving life or limb threatening injuries will be seen during normal duty hours, depending on the availability of a veterinarian. Please call for appointment. It is highly recommended that pet owners maintain a relationship with an off-base vet as a backup for those times when the military veterinarian will not be available to see pets.

Animal Policy

A maximum of three animals per household are allowed while residing on Edwards AFB. All animals must be registered within 10 working days of arrival by presenting a current rabies certification or scheduling vaccinations at the Vet Clinic. An Edwards rabies and identification tag will be issued upon proper proof of immunization. Owners will confine pets at their residence or exercise them under the owners immediate control on a leash at all times. No pets will be left unattended in motor vehicles. A limited number of animals are allowed in Desert Villa guest quarters, and dogs and cat are not allowed in the dormitories. Breeding or abandoning animals on Edwards is prohibited. Pet suites are availible at the High Desert Inn, contact lodging for more information.
